Stellar Work Ready Mechanic Trucks: Built for Uptime

Papé Kenworth service truck equipped with a Stellar mechanic body, crane, compressor, and welder.

Stellar Work Ready mechanic trucks give technicians a mobile service platform designed to bring repair capabilities directly to the jobsite. With an aluminum body, hydraulic crane, onboard air, organized storage, and dedicated workspace, technicians can have the tools and equipment they need closer to the work. At Papé Kenworth, we can help configure the truck around your technicians’ tools, accessories, and workflows.

What Makes a Stellar Mechanic Truck Work Ready?

A Stellar Work Ready truck combines the core components of a mobile repair operation into one package, helping crews get a new service truck ready for the field. Stellar Work Ready inventory includes the chassis along with key service equipment.

Depending on the configuration, equipment can include:

  • A Stellar TMAX service body
  • A hydraulic service crane
  • An onboard air compressor
  • Heavy-duty drawer sets and adjustable shelving
  • Hose storage and equipment compartments
  • A workbench bumper and dedicated rear workspace
  • Lighting, stabilizers, and other jobsite-focused equipment

The result is a mobile workshop that can bring repair capabilities directly to equipment in the field, reducing unnecessary hauling and trips back to the shop.

Three Stellar Work Ready Options for Different Service Demands

TMAX 1-11: A Versatile Mobile Service Platform

The TMAX 1-11 offers substantial field-service capability in a more compact service-body package. Current aluminum configurations pair the body with Stellar’s 8630 hydraulic service crane and 40P air compressor.

The 8630 provides up to 8,600 pounds of lifting capacity and nearly 30 feet of horizontal reach, while the 40P delivers 40 cfm at 100 psi, giving technicians onboard air for pneumatic tools and other service needs.

Adjustable shelving, heavy-duty drawers, hose storage, and dedicated compartments help technicians organize parts and tools around their daily work. Aluminum side packs and doors help reduce body weight and resist corrosion, while the steel crane compartment and torsion-box understructure reinforce high-stress areas.

TMAX 2-11: More Capability in a Class 6 Package

For fleets that need additional crane and air capacity,  the TMAX 2-11 offers a step up in capability. A current Work Ready configuration pairs the body with a Kenworth T280 rated at 26,000 pounds GVW, powered by a 300-horsepower PACCAR PX-7 and Allison 2500 transmission.

The 133-inch TMAX 2-11 body features 60-inch side packs, heavy-duty compartment storage, a 21-inch workbench bumper, and a reinforced crane area. The Stellar 12630 crane provides up to 12,000 pounds of lifting capacity and 30 feet of horizontal reach, while the 46P two-stage compressor delivers 46 cfm at 175 psi.

TMAX 2-14: More Space for Bigger Service Operations

For crews carrying larger inventories of tools, parts, fluids, and repair equipment, the TMAX 2-14 adds valuable body space. Its 168-inch body provides more room than the 133-inch TMAX 2-11 while retaining 60-inch side packs and organized compartment storage.

Current Kenworth T380 Work Ready configurations pair the Class 7 chassis with a 33,000-pound GVW rating, a PACCAR PX-9 engine, an Allison automatic transmission, the Stellar 12630 crane, and the 46P compressor. The combination adds payload and storage capacity for more demanding field-service applications.

Built Around the Operator

A mechanic truck has to support the technician in the cab and at the repair site. Kenworth’s medium-duty cab is designed around driver comfort and control, with ergonomic seating, intuitive controls, a configurable 7-inch digital display, easy-to-use climate controls, and strong visibility.

Available driver-assistance technologies on the Kenworth T280 and Kenworth T380 include adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, side-object detection, and lane-departure warning. Equipment availability varies by configuration, so our team can help determine which systems fit your truck and application.

The Stellar body adds jobsite-focused features such as LED flood and compartment lighting, rear grab handles, stabilizers, secure compartments, and available backup alarms. Compatible Stellar cranes can also use the CDTpro™ control system and Range Finder™ technology, providing operators with lifting-capacity information as they position and operate the crane.

Organized Storage That Works Across Industries

The same service-body platform can support a variety of field-service applications. Heavy equipment technicians may prioritize larger tools and hydraulic components, while utility, agriculture, fleet, and mining crews may need additional parts, hoses, fluids, or specialty equipment.

Adjustable shelving, vertical and horizontal compartments, drawer systems, and dedicated equipment storage allow technicians to organize the truck around their workflow. Keeping frequently used tools and parts close at hand can reduce time spent searching, unloading, or returning back to the shop.

Start Work Ready, Then Make It Yours

A Work Ready package provides the foundation, while additional accessories can tailor the truck to your operation. Papé Kenworth can help match the chassis, body, crane, compressor, storage, and accessories to the work your technicians perform most often.

Options can include:

  • Extended work and compartment lighting
  • Additional toolboxes, drawers, and shelving
  • Customized workbench bumper setups
  • Jug trays and specialty storage
  • Welder/generator options
  • Additional Stellar accessories for specific applications

Put More Uptime on the Road

From compact field-service needs to larger, more demanding repair operations, Stellar TMAX Work Ready trucks give fleets several ways to bring tools, lifting capacity, compressed air, and organized storage directly to the jobsite.
